HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Aimed at providing free high quality tertiary education to the financially less privileged but exceptionally talented Novo Ecijano youths, the Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College (ELJMC) came into being on January 24, 2005 by vitue of Nueva Ecija Provincial Board Resolution No. 34-5-2005.

ELJMC was established in honor of the Great Patriarch Eduardo L. Joson who served as governor of Nueva Ecija for more than 30 years since 1960. His ideals and commitment to the youth and to the development of the entire province have inspired the continuing program on human resource  development; thus the birth of this pioneering institution geared towards Excellence, Leadership, and Justice. All these are envisioned to lead to the overall progress and honor of the province.

As a community college, ELJMC is being operated and manage by the Nueva Ecija provincial Government with the able leadership of Hon. Tomas N. Joson III, chairman of the Board of Trustees and Provincial Governor of Nueva Ecija likewise, a highly skilled and dynamic leader, and also a dedicated public servant, Dr. Romeo L. Saplaco was installed as the Colleges first President.

VISION OF ELJMC

ELJMC, sa a premiere educational institutions, shall promote the ideas and perspective of the Great Patriarch, ELJ in order to provide equal access to quality education, develop a sense of justice and responsibility, and create empowerment and global competitiveness among our people through innovative ideas, jobs, and self- employment.

MISSION OF ELJMC

ELJMC shall endeavor to engage in relevant researches and enrich knowledge in various disciplines, and subsequently, general innovation and promote technologies, all geared toward excellence, leadership, and justice.

OBJECTIVES:

1.  Establish and maintain a dynamic research program by qualified and component personnel with periodic publications of its studies in its scholarly journal.
2. Develop the culture of life- long learning, an enterprising and caring culture as major componenet to education.
3. Institutionalize an outreach program through its community extension services manned by experience and service- oriented personnel.
4. Continuously disseminate new knowledge and information, effective delivery system and state- of- the- art instructional tools.
5. Promote a sense of heightened awareness and active participation in addressing issues and problems in various realms of life- political, economic, social, cultural, ecological and spiritual; and
6. Motive students towards greater achievements and produce graduates with excellent performance in relate professional licensure examinations and/ or their chosen field of endeavor.

EDUARDO L. JOSON MEMORIAL COLLEGE

A government institution where all of the students are scholars and well manage by the provincial government. Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College founded January 24, 2005 and at the present year our Alma Mater celebrated its 7th year founding anniversary.

Our institution helps the Novo Ecijanos to be get the opportunity to study and finished their college for free and covered with different privileges when they graduated. ELJMC offered courses that fits for every students.

ELJMC is an institution that gives a free scholarship to the poor but deserving Novo Ecijanos and helps to achieve their goals.

ELJMC is the school that always on the top in terms of taking the License Examination  for teacher and examinations for Certified Public Accountants. Students of  ELJMC are not only intelligence but they are also talented in terms of dancing (SKDT Dance Group), acting (MUKHA Theater Group) and singing ( The Voices and TYM Bond). The students are enjoying at ELJMC because they are not only teaching in knowledge but they are also teach how to discover their talents.

Continuing its operation to produce highly competitive students and it is a great opportunity for those students in a low middle class ( status of living ) to be educated.

ELJMC scholarships are open to all Novo Ecijanos. Open in a month of February and March.
