HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Aimed at providing free high quality tertiary education to the financially less privileged but exceptionally talented Novo Ecijano youths, the Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College (ELJMC) came into being on January 24, 2005 by vitue of Nueva Ecija Provincial Board Resolution No. 34-5-2005.
ELJMC was established in honor of the Great Patriarch Eduardo L. Joson who served as governor of Nueva Ecija for more than 30 years since 1960. His ideals and commitment to the youth and to the development of the entire province have inspired the continuing program on human resource development; thus the birth of this pioneering institution geared towards Excellence, Leadership, and Justice. All these are envisioned to lead to the overall progress and honor of the province.
As a community college, ELJMC is being operated and manage by the Nueva Ecija provincial Government with the able leadership of Hon. Tomas N. Joson III, chairman of the Board of Trustees and Provincial Governor of Nueva Ecija likewise, a highly skilled and dynamic leader, and also a dedicated public servant, Dr. Romeo L. Saplaco was installed as the Colleges first President.
